[TYPO3-english] NEWS_EMAIL on tt_news

Hi everyone, 

I'm trying to use NEWS_EMAIL on tt_news extension for building a link to
address author:

<a href="mailto:###NEWS_EMAIL###" target="_blank">###NEWS_EMAIL###</a>

but it's not possible to use ###NEWS_EMAIL### inside <a> tag. 

Any clue?
