Hi Andreas,

perhaps do you have php safe_mode = on ?
I had the same problem and i guessed (lucky me!) that TYPO3 4.2.10,
safe_mode = on and GraphicsMagick didn't get on at all well together...

At present i've disabled safe_mode :-( no time to further investigation
today.
