Define "you". Personally I haven't got any problems with the documentation,
since it helped me a lot while learning all the necessary stuff back in 2002
and it still does.

Again: You didn't ask for conditions and how to do it in TYPO3, you just
asked how to show recurring stuff.
And the answer is: Use conditions.
To be more precise: Use TypoScript conditions.

Maybe you should first check the thousands of posts I made within more than
6 years of active support in this community.
Most of them have been answers helping people to solve their problems
especially when it came to TypoScript.
This is true for Peter as well.
