David, I don't think we're talking of the same feature..
You mean local anchors - don't know how it's exactly called.. the thing with
# after the filename.
I talk about the jumpurl feature to let TYPO3 generate short URLs e.g.
http://example.com/?jumpurl=md5hash-here and then let TYPO3 redirect it to
the configured URL.
You remember the TYPO3 bug at the beginning of this year where local files
could be read out? This was caused by jumpurls.
Have you used direct_mail? There's an option to enable those URLs to track
the link clicks.
