Maybe you should update your TYPO3 installation. showpic.php is gone since 
4.2 (4.1?).

Does your base URL end with an /. Maybe you can try it with config.baseUrl = 
http://www.example.com/  - I think to remember that there are various issues 
when the ending / is missing.
