[TYPO3-english] Very slow performance when clearing cache & viewing template / huge db size increase

Hi,



We have a fairly big Typo3 implementation.



But lately, we've seen our DB grow from 700 MB to close to 3 GB in 1 month. Also, clearing the cache takes at least 4 or 5 minutes. Editing templates in the main site do the same.



Any ideas where I can start troubleshooting? I've gone back to our logs, and can't see anything that could have caused this, except for activating indexing on the site. We turned it off soon afterwards when we realized it was pretty useless, given the size of the database.



Our site is pretty fast loading. It's the back-end that's giving us a headache.



I've been looking for some answers regarding these issues, but so far, have found nothing.
