We stopped using eaccelerator  because of some bugs at one time (about  
1.5 years ago)
since this was a production site and our server is big enough we  
didn't put it back in place.

So be careful with accelerators they 'might' be buggy.

And yes, I could confirm it was in fact eaccelerator because after I  
turned it off
our sites started to work normally again. I am not sure what the exact  
issue was except
a 'not so happy' client :D
