[TYPO3-english] UNC path in TYPO3 fileadmin on Windows 2003 server

Hi all,

Is it possible to mount an external server to a directory inside the 
fileadmin?
If so how?

We looked into windows junctions but that did not work on network shares.
I've setup an alias in apache /mydir //otherserver/myotherdir and that works 
in the browser, BUT not in TYPO3 (browse_links)

Any advise sollutions?
It's so easy on Linux! ;)
