[TYPO3-english] 4.2.8 tt_news error

Hello all, 
 
I installed 4.2.8 on my development server and can no longer create tt_news items. When I attempt to create a new tt_news item, I get the following PHP warnings:

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /opt/software/typo3_src-4.2.8/t3lib/class.t3lib_db.php on line 796

and the following typo3 error: 	
 
2: SQL error: 'Unknown column 'tx_newscalendar_state' in 'field list'' (tt_news:NEW4a8eaec868e17)
 
I also get the same error when saving a tt_news item. Has anyone encountered this before and if so, how do you fix it?
