just to get some figures: we just did some loadtests on a quite 
sophisticated site using all types of extension.

The MySQL database is on a different machine, the webserver is a SUN with 
2 quadcore AMD 1.6GHz and has 16G Ram

We get (machine is running on a high load, but still good for us) 150 
pages per second. (all rendered in under 1 second)
