there's also a nice tutorial in CHM format includet in SweeTS http://typo3.area42.de/

(With SweeTS you can pimp the well known PSpad editor for better use with TYPO3)

just download latest version of SweeTS, extract the ZIP file and find the TypoScript.chm in the
folder "Help".

And as Peter already told you, Data-Types are listed in TypoScript Reference (TSref).
