[TYPO3] Hidden or obvious? Temporary home page

Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?   Temporary homepage?  Hidden feature?  I just
don't see it.  Help!

When I go to add the new temporary page, it is forcing me to use a template,
and I don't want one.  I can see where it lets me give the page a duration
to show, but nothing that says basically, use this page as temp. home page.
How do I designate the page as the temp homepage?
