[TYPO3] Upgraded from 4.1.5 to 4.2 -- 2 issues

I've just upgraded a site and have 2 issues which have me stumped.

1.  No flexforms.  Any plugin as the older method - Code box, etc.
2.  Can't create a new content element in page view, I get an http 500 
area in the content area.

I've upgraded to the latest TV, any advice?
