the "backPid" parameter is removed from URL in the default 
configuration. If you really need it, you should put it back. To do so, 
just move

<part>
       <parameter>tx_ttnews[backPid]</parameter>
     </part>

from predefinedparts to uriparts.

What exactly do you mean by "backlink is empty"? There's no URL or it 
points to the rootpage?
