I thought about it... I think I would still prefer to have a new news item type with CEs. What exists, must stay. For example, I rarely need images, etc, on my blog. Most of the time I am fine with just text. So I really do not want to bother pressing extra buttons to add CE, etc. New item type will let me switch to adding CEs when necessary.
