[TYPO3] howto change record sorting in BE list module?

Hello list,

I already read doc_core_tsconfig and googled around but did not find an 
answer to my question:

Is it possible to set a specific sorting order for tables in the BE's 
list module?

Of course you can everytime click on the table header to get into the 
singleTableView and then activate the date/time column and then click 
twice on date/time column to get your latest news first but that is 
quite tiring and not easy to understand for editors....
