[TYPO3] Better stripHTML

Hey,

I've got bullet list in RTE and I need to create a teaser from it for 
list view. Now the source from the RTE is:

...foo</li><li>Boo...

and stripHTML produces

fooBoo

while I'd like to have

foo Boo

any ideas? I guess I'd need to create my own userFunc that would strip 
HTML instead of default function. Or is it possible to add line breaks 
between the LI tags?
