[TYPO3] directmail questions

Hi,

I am trying to install a directmail extension into my installation.

I am using Typo3.4.15

DIRECTMAIL
I tried the latest version of directmail with no success.
I got the mails to work etc. but when the mail arrived the images and text looked like it was right out of the template, No columns etc. It was all in one comumn, no css working etc.

Plus it didn't see my FE user list if I made a recipient list from FE users.

THEN

TC Directmail
I decided to try the TC Directmail
I removed the directmail ext completely from the server and installed tc_directmail
Did everything that was in the manual.

Problem

Recipients - It doesn't matter which list I create, whether it is FE sers or from Addresses it doesn't add the names, so when I go to send it says recipents 0
I don't know what the mail will look like when I get one as I can't send even a testmail.
I have tt_addresses installed and static_info_tables
I must be doing something wrong on both ext's or missing something.

Does anyone have a cle as to what is happening, any ideas etc?
