[TYPO3] Random CEs

What's the best approach to this?

We would like to have a placeholder on a page, where a random CE (from a 
  list of allowed ones) would be loaded. Upon refreshing the page, 
different CE should be shown randomly. We would still like to have the 
CEs cached, so that they're not rerended each time.

Any ideas are appreciated. We want to maintain maximum performance.
