[TYPO3] Is DAM worth its use or is it dead?

Hey,

personally, I want to develop the DAM to finally make this thing good. 
Unfortunately my time was limited until now (finally back to speed in 
TYPO3 development), so I look for TYPO3 projects that sponsor my 
development in the DAM extension (it is truly a beast), to fit it nicer 
to the actual core and make it.

I have to use it and it's a shame to show this to my clients since it's 
barely usable (in terms of usability), but I need it for the metadata.

Anyway: Yes, I'd be interested in René's initial presentation. Do you 
have a link or something?

Fairly enough, I do not recommend DAM yet, but I hope it gets developed 
in the right direction so people can finally like this part of the TYPO3 
project as well.

BTW: I think there is no discussion if it's a sysext or not, the core 
team has a lot of other work to do, and this way the DAM development 
would even be slowed down a lot as well, so I don't think this will (and 
should) ever be a sysext. With making DAM integrate nicer to the TYPO3 
core (which the DAM team will do in the future) there is no need to have 
it as a sysext.
