Problem solved. I did not realize that I have to create "alternative
page languages" for the sysfolder first.

Subject: [TYPO3] "limit to languages" & tt_news records
Hi list
I have a little configuration problem: I have a Multilanguage page tree
and different backend users (editors and translators). The editors
create content in the default language. The translators are only allowed
to view the content in the default language and create and modify
translations. They are not allowed to edit the default language content.
This works as far as it doesn't come to tt_news records. If a translator
wants to open the record for editing, the following error appears:
Sorry, you didn't have proper permissions to perform this change.
Reason: ERROR: Language was not allowed.
The limitation to the languages for the translators-group is done by the
"limit to languages" flag in the be-user record where the "default
language" flag is unchecked for translators.
Thanks in advance
Marco
