[TYPO3] weird T3 template problem

hi Kay,

i used TV to create 5 different "sites", one for each template i'm  
using.  the only differences in each template (except for home) is a  
css class to make that item "active" so i can color it differently.

i used this in the html so i could control the design more easily.  i  
can probably use a hmenu instead, but since my site has three levels  
(5 sections, each with a series of 2nd level links and 3rd level  
sublinks) i wanted to do it this way.

but for some weird reason Typo3 isn't letting  
"www.youcanstaysharp.com" go to the root!  or even if i hard-code the  
html links to any page, they are not being respected.
