[TYPO3] tt_news with highlighted content block

Hi,

Is there a plugin, or, a recommended way to have highlight blocks within
tt_news items? To explain this with an illustration, please see this news
story at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7064336.stm; notice the
highlighted content block with a quote from the 'UN special envoy' in this
story. Is there a way to achieve something like this within tt_news; any
existing plug-in, or is it best to write a plug-in on our own by extending
tt_news?
