Some of them are easy to fix...

Also I have comments extension (thanks to Netcreators for sponsoring), whcih is much better than ve_guestbook for commenting. I made an import extension to import ve_guestbook entries to comments extension. But timtab has more: comment counts, for example. I do not have time at the moment do change it.

Ideally, timtab should have a BE module that integrates tt_news entries and comment entries, so that it all looks much more user-friendly. That would make timtab comparable with wordpress. But this is a big task and I doubt anyone will want to sponsor it.
