[TYPO3] indxed search and crawler with 4.0.6 ?

Hi,

I am trying to setup indexed search.

I have 4.0.6 installed, but when I install the crawler, it complains 
that class.t3lib_cli.php is missing from t3lib. I see it is part of 4.1.

My question is

1. Is this library incompatible with 4.0.6? Can I just copy it into my 
4.0.6 install?

2. Is there any other way to use indexed search without crawler (indexed 
search came with 4.0.6... )
