[TYPO3] frontend editing: moving content elements results in blank screen

I found and tried http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4160.  Looks like the
patch provided allows contents to be moved up and down fine.  But as
mentioned in the thread, the patch still needed thorough test.  Not clear
if it could break anything else.
