[TYPO3] files disappear in fileadmin after removing from content

Hey List,

working with T4.01 and having this very strange problem:

When I remove a picture from a content element, the picture gets deleted 
from the fileadmin directory as well and out of the upload/pics folder.

Anyone had this same problem and can anyone provide me some insights on 
this or even better: a sollution ?
