[TYPO3] Article archive system wanted

I need to store a large number of magazine articles in a database, with 
fields for author, magazine, categories, publication date etc. The 
front-end user should be able to chose to display articles from a 
particular author, magazine or category.

Is there any extension that can do it, or is it possible to solve it 
with plain typoscript?

I've tried Article Database (articles), but couldn't find the manual.
