Timothy,
Are you looking for a way to populate path caches (or create URLs) as
they are requested or actually create them all at once, on demand?
I can't answer the latter, but for the former, I observed that setting
'firstHitPathCache' => '1',
in my RealURL pagePath configuration (per this post
http://lists.netfielders.de/pipermail/typo3-english/2007-January/035186.html
) allows site visitors to manually type a known URL into their browser
and not see a "page not found" or "postVars ..." error for a page that
is hidden in menu.
We too have pages that we don't want to link to anywhere but still
want to be able to get to by RealURL as opposed to the regular
"index.php?id=foo" URL.

After a lot of reading / Googling, I understand that URLs are not generated for a page until a web browser hits a page that displays the item in a menu list. Not a problem except for the fact that the pages I set to "Hide in menu" will never show up in a navigation structure on my site.

I have thought about setting up a cron job to automatically hit a "secret" sitemap page that displays all links every few minutes, however I am unable to get the sitemap/menu plugin to correctly display all levels of navigation for my tree including all hidden pages.
