[TYPO3] [TYPO.] Custom workspaces - unable to preview pages

We have upgraded to 4.1.1 and tried again, but we have the same problems.
 
I use the following command line to patch
 
patch --dry-run -p0 --binary <bug.diff
 
and get
 
patching file t3lib/class.t3lib_page.php
patching file t3lib/class.t3lib_tcemain.php
hunk #1 FAILED at 2347
hunk # succeeded at 3744 (offset -36 lines).
1 out of 2 hunks FAILED
can't find file to patch at input line 102
 
the test leading up to this was
 
typo3/mod/user/ws/class/wslib_gui.php

Now, obviously I have a failure part way through t3lib_tcemain.php also the file wslib_gui.php does not exist?!

Any help here hugely appreciated.

This patch was made over svn version of typo3. It may work with typo3 
4.1. Most likely it will not apply to any 4.0.x because files are too 
different.
