[TYPO3] annoying problem: duplicate page tree in backend

Hello, 

 

I have a really annoying problem that occurred after moving some pages.
Somehow I have created a duplicate of the page tree on the same level as
the site (globe icon) in the backend. When I click on a page on one menu
the selection is mirrored on the other menu & vice-versa... has anyone
encountered this before??
