[TYPO3] Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object

I created a very basic site with only the extensions BAHAG Photo 
Gallery, Image Rotation, and LoginBox / macmade.net. I have only one BE 
usergroup and a few users.

When I try to move content blocks up or down using the display edit 
panels in the frontend, I get the error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in 
/home/sonorac/public_html/typo3_src/t3lib/class.t3lib_tsfebeuserauth.php 
on line 1068

In the tsconfig, I have:
admPanel {
   enable.edit = 1
}

I've developed many sites in typo3 ver 4.0. This is my first site in ver 
4.0.2.  I've never seen this problem before. Please help.
