This isn't a direct solution to your question, but one of the first
things I try to drum into TYPO3 users' heads during training is that
they should ALWAYS title content elements. If, for some reason the
titles should not be displayed, I teach them that they should just
choose the 'hidden' option for the header.
Incidentally, unless there are hundreds of existing content elements
already, it's simple enough to add titles to many records at once
using 'set fields' in the List module...
