[TYPO3] Calling URL variables or paths in TS

Hi,

Is it possible to have certain link  (www.domain.dk/user1) carry a variable
that can be used by in TS configuration in the template?

Plugin.something.something = user1

The result should be that depending on the entry URL the configuration will
be different..

Alternatively i can use www.domain.dk/index.php?id=1&user=1...

Any suggestions?
