[TYPO3] tt_news categories problem

Here is our tt_news set up:
A page is set up as a LIST, where all news stories are posted. This page should not be visible on the FE.
A page is set up to display a single view.
Multiple pages are set up, each set up as a LIST, designed to display one of the categories. These pages would be visible and display titles from the corresponding categories.
GRSP is turned off.
 
Problem:
On those multiple pages, in each one whenever I select a category to be displayed and save the page, my changes are not saved - the categories field is empty, and the page shows no news items.
 
Is there something wrong with my set up? Is there another way to arrange it?
