[TYPO3] "edit record" asks for saving php

Hi,

I am newbie in typo3 and tt_news. When I try to edit the tt_news plugin by
clicking the edit record icon, it asks me to save or open alt_doc.php.

I am unable to edit the plugin configuration parameters other by deleting
and re-installing it.

Where am i going wrong?
