I'm just adding it to one of my sites. It seems to work just fine. There
are some glitches though: I'm having trouble with optional channel
elements - cannot get them displayed in the feed.

I think you have to select "RSS Channel" in the "Include static" of your
template. It's not mentioned in the manual.

> Where did you locate the config? Somewhere in a folder in the pagetree?

According to the manual it's supposed to be located in a folder that is
under root.
