[TYPO3] tt_news questions

hello,

On a dutch mailing list it seems that tt_news can be a solution for my 
website but i have a few questions.

1) Can i make a archive meniu with starts at 1 october till 1 october ?

2) Can i use the foldout extenstion as a menu for tt_news and if so, how can 
i do that ?
