[TYPO3] FCE question

Hello,

i try to understand this concept but i have one question.

Image i have a div named content and in concept there are three other area's 
nl. titel, datum en tekst.

In the page template do i have to map content to Content Elements and save 
as a page template and later map content to a container and saved as a 
content Element or im a missiing something along the line.
