[TYPO3] fast cgi / php5 - direct mail?

hi folks,

is there any known issue concerning the direct mail extension together 
with PHP5 configured as CGI?

there are 2 problems that occur, that i can't explain:

1: if i try to fetch a direct mail (read url) then i get a internal 
server error 500. the log outputs this error-notice:

[Tue Oct 31 11:18:45 2006] [error] [client xx.xxx.xx.xxx] FastCGI: 
incomplete headers (0 bytes) received from server 
"/var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/www.domain.tld_https/php-fcgi-starter"


2: if i mass-send the newsletter to a recipient-list with around 15000 
entries, only 5800 are sent. this behaviour is reproducable. recipients 
are checked, email-addresses are correct.


it is fact, that this behaviour occurs after moving the t3-installation 
to a new server, where PHP5 is running as CGI. (former: PHP4 as module), 
the new server uses postfix as mail-server also, whereas the old server 
used sendmail, if this infos help you, although it does not help me that 
much... ;)

i don't know where else to search the error. does anyone has a hint?
