[TYPO3] table join

Hi,
         I need to modify an extension to join the pages table with a table 
that
contains the domain name of the site.  I believe that I can join it with
the sys_domain table, but the uid in that table does not match up with
the uid in the pages table, as far as I can tell.  Could somebody please
point out to me how I can go about linking the domain name to a record
from the pages table ?
