[TYPO3] sr_feuser_register - cannot uncheck all dmail categories

Hi,

I have problem with sr_feuser_register 2.5.1, direct_mail 2.1.5 and T3 4.0.2

Everything works perfectly except that I cannot unset all dmail 
categories in edit form.
I can set/unset the categories if there is at least one category set, 
but if I unset all categories the value stays unchanged.

Can anybody help me out? Is this a bug or misconfiguration?

Is there another way the users can unsubscribe from dmail newsletters? 
(except completely deleting the account?)
