con you explain me why i receive this message?

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IF, expecting T_FUNCTION in C:\Programmi\Apache2\htdocs\sitoprova\typo3conf\ext\researchtemas\pi1\class.tx_researchtemas_pi1.php on line 92

in line 92 of the file there is the following string:

if (defined('TYPO3_MODE') && $TYPO3_CONF_VARS[TYPO3_MODE]['XCLASS']['ext/researchtemas/pi1/class.tx_researchtemas_pi1.php'])  {
  include_once($TYPO3_CONF_VARS[TYPO3_MODE]['XCLASS']['ext/researchtemas/pi1/class.tx_researchtemas_pi1.php']);
  }

tx_researchtemas is a my extension,
