[TYPO3] News workflow in TYPO3 V4

Hi there,
 I'm trying  create simple workflow system for tt_news records.     I
want create users to edit, review, publish news.
Do I  have to install the workflow extension in TYPO3 v4? Can I work
directly with the TYP3 V4 Workspace?
Does anybody know a good documentation to do that?
