Hi Matthew,

great job. I think this a very cool quickstart document. Just a few 
comments (I only looked at it for 5 minutes ;)):

- the permissions issue is not a TYPO3-specific problem, and there might 
just as well be other issues (like gdlib or IM trouble), just refer to 
the install docs and start with a working TYPO3 installation ;)

- the example TS seems a little verbose (especially the noblur stuff), 
I'm sure we could cut it to at least on third of the code. And there's 
already some advanced stuff (like redefining tt_content output) that 
maybe does not belong there

- start right in the BE and upload the template and CSS through the file 
module, you can then get rid of section 9.

- the TS for simulatestatic is scary (the pEnc part)

I'm looking forward to the final version, which could IMHO also include 
a short section about multi-language setups just as it does now with 
fe_user stuff.
