[TYPO3] htmlarea magic image + GDlib

Is  it possible to force the magic image module in htmlarea to work with 
GDlib instead of image magic? Since image magick is not available on my 
server en GDlib is. GDlib works fine when it comes to resizing images in 
the text with image content element, but it is ignored when inserting 
images directly by using the magic image option in htmlarea.
