[TYPO3] Permanent login issues

Hi there,

i just installed typo3 4.1 beta and i´m somewhat confused with the 
permalogin feature.

How does it work? Right now i have a typo_fe_user cookie which seems to 
be set all the time - but i have no cookie that tells my scripts that i 
am really logged in.
Does somebody know how to enable typo3_fe_user_login for permalogin? Or 
even better would be just no typo_fe_user cookie when not logged in - 
can this be achieved somehow?
