[TYPO3] problem with sr_email_subscribe, edit link not working

in the manual it says:

1.Create a page; insert the Email Address Subscription plugin, setting
the CODE to CREATE, and the Starting Point to the System Folder that
will contain the subscriber records created by the plugin. Set the TS
template constant registerPID, confirmPID and editPID to the page id of
this page.

so that should work, but I also tried that:
1.If you wish to have confirmation and/or edition on different pages,
you may also create a second page, insert the Email Address Subscription
plugin, leaving the CODE empty and setting the Starting Point to the
System Folder that will contain the subscriber records created by the
plugin, and set the TS template constants confirmPID and editPID to the
page id of this page.

didn't work either.
