[TYPO3] Firefox 2.0

I am using FF 2.0/OSX and t34.0.2 and something weird happening in BE...

i goto create a new be usergroup, and when i make all my selections and 
attempt to save or save+close the browser tells me that


You have chosen to open
alt_doc.php
which is a : PHP Document
from: http://(my site)

should ff open/save...




??? this is very weird.

So the next thing  i did was to disable the add-ons for ff.

I had Cooliris Previews 2.0
DOM Inspector 1.8.1
Download Statusbar 0.9.4.5
Firebug 0.4.1

I disabled them, and restarted ff, but experienced same problem...


i wonder if the network im on is part of the problem. i know im behind 
some crazy firewall here

i tried to access the site using safari and am experienceing a different 
issue. when i try and save a record it loadds for a time then just stops 
(times out almost) and doesnt save the record...
