[TYPO3] click-enlarge icon

Does anybody have a solution for the folowing thing already?

Hi,

I need to change the way the "click enlarge" function for images works.
Rather than just clicking on an image to request a larger image my 
client would like to have a little icon below the image with a 
magnifying glass which should have the "click_enlarge" function.
Can anyone tell me if this can be done using TS and where do I have to 
look modify the functionality?
